National Portrait Gallery

Today we went to the National Portrait Gallery in DC. I hadn’t been there in years. It was a nice way to spend a Sunday afternoon. We saw some great exhibits. I saw the Presidents exhibit, The Black List, The Civil War, and several others. It would really take a few visits to really see everything in the museum. I’m sure we’ll go back at some point.

Father Update

I went to visit my dad at the rehabilitation center today. He is doing really well. He is walking with a cane now and sometimes without the cane. He is moving about easily now and his hip replacement is healing nicely. He’s in great spirits and is ready to go home. He’s been there five weeks now and will be released on Tuesday. One of my brothers has been putting up railings and grab bars so that my dad will be able to walk easily and get around his house. We had a great visit and he was very chatty.

On another note, on the trip down and back I traveled almost 200 miles and got 35.4 miles per gallon…and it’s not a hybrid! I was very pleased with the gas milage of this new car. Of course I had to snap a picture of the milage.
