Egg Casserole

When I got up this morning I decided I wanted something different for breakfast. I was tired of eating cereal or spending the time to scramble eggs and all that. Instead I took those eggs and put them in a container. I put some cheese and ham and some old bread and made an egg casserole. While it was cooking I decided to do my walk. I only walked 1.33 miles while it was cooking. But the casserole was perfect! It was small enough to have for breakfast and was cooked just right! It was delicious!

So Sad

The lead singer of The Cranberries, Dolores O’Riordan, died today. Cause of death was unknown. I’m sure we’ll heard more about that in the days to come. I loved The Cranberries. Those 80s and 90s songs bring back memories. I loved this song:

Back To The Hall

Happy Martin Luther King, Jr. Day! I hope you took some time to think about his contributions to our country and our world.

I got back to walking in the hall to get my exercise all at once instead of spreading it out throughout the day. I walked 2.16 miles in about 40 minutes. And of course since there is nothing to look at in the hall, I have a hall picture to share.

For dinner my wonderful husband baked a chicken! It was delicious.

By the end of the day I had walked 4.43 miles and got 10,180 steps.

Museum Walk

Today we went to the National Gallery of Art. We wanted to see the new Vermeer exhibit but the line was SO long. We didn’t think we could stand in that long line.

We decided we would wander around the 18th and 19th century painters and see their paintings. We saw some really nice paintings. It was fun walking around, studying a painting and then talking about what we see. It seems like we must have walked into 30 or so rooms. Here are some paintings I really enjoyed:

After a few hours of viewing paintings we decided to have some lunch. We went to the museum cafe. It happened to be the same cafe we went to on our very first date. We had fun reminiscing about our first date.

After lunch we decided to head over to the Hirshhorn Museum across the mall.

While we do enjoy some contemporary art, the exhibits we saw today were just odd. It might be that we are getting old or something but they just weren’t enjoyable like they have been in the past.

We walked the entire museum but just didn’t find anything we enjoyed. So it was time to go home. We ordered up an Uber and went home. We then had a relaxing evening.

Walked a total of 3.55 miles today.
