Apple Store Anniversary

Today is the 10th anniversary of the Apple Store. The very first store was opened in Tysons Corner Center in McLean Virginia. Virginia may be backwards socially but we got the very first store because of the rich people who live in the area. I live about 2 minutes from Tysons Corner. I remember being in line opening day of this store. I think I was #49 in line. I didn’t buy anything that day but wanted to get the free t-shirt (which is long gone) and see all the great things at the store. I’ve have visited this store hundreds of times over the years and bought lots of stuff. I remember being so excited that we got the very first Apple Store. Here’s a video of Steve Jobs introducing the store. The store has been renovated a few times since then so it barely looks like that now. Doesn’t it make you just want to go in and buy something?

First the news of their split and now the news of his love child? I’m not surprised. He *IS* a republican after all. I just feel bad for Maria. I’ve always liked her.

New iMac

So I broke down and bought the new iMac. I’ve had it for a few days now….it arrived last Thursday. I got the huge 27 inch model with the 3.4 Ghz i7 quad core processor with 8 gigs of ram, a 2 TB hard drive, and the upgraded graphics chip. Of course I’m loving it. It’s very fast and very big. I really like the SD card slot for importing pictures really fast. I also like the big screen. The speed really is amazing. If I was podcasting or creating videos, the speed would be really helpful. As much as this thing cost, this will be my last iMac for a very long time.
