Time for a field trip! My friends and I went to the Kreeger Museum this morning. They had not been before but I’ve been there a few times. It’s right near our condo. The weather was perfect. We toured the house enjoying the artwork and the sculptures on the grounds. Afterwards we went out to lunch. I’m ready for another field trip!
Today I met my friends Jill and Lynn at Hillwood Estate. It’s the home of Marjorie Merriweather Post. She was the heir to the Possum Cereal Company. She was very wealthy. We had a great time catching up, enjoying the mansion and gardens and having lunch. Here are some pictures from our visit.
Out on my walk today I saw this beautiful collection of fall leaves. I thought it would make a great picture.
Our anniversary is coming up this week. Traditionally we go to museums for our anniversary date….its what we did on our first date. We went to the National Gallery of Art. My favorite was the Jackson Pollock. We had a fun day of seeing lots of art and spending time together.
Today I went to the Glenstone Museum in Potomac Maryland with the gay retirement group I belong to. I’ve been wanting to visit this museum since it opened. You have to get tickets to visit and it’s always been booked. The leader of our group was able to secure some tickets for a small group. I was lucky enough to join the group.
It’s a cool museum with some great works of art created since World War II. It was created by a couple who want to create an experience for the public. From their website:

Even though I didn’t get any photos of the artwork, I did find pictures of some of my favorite pieces online.
I really enjoyed visiting the museum. They told us they change the artwork every 6 months so I plan on going back again and again.
