Today I went out to lunch with 9 ladies who I used to teach with. It was Kate’s birthday so we all met for lunch to help her celebrate her birthday. It was fun catching up with everyone. I hope to have more of these opportunities in the future. Sandy put me on the list so that I’d be informed when the next lunch is scheduled.
I walked 1.22 miles today.
Tonight we went to dinner at Cafe Deluxe for our date night. We always start with bubbles. Our dinner was delicious. My husband had a free birthday dessert on his Cafe Deluxe card so they put a candle in it and we celebrated one more time. He enjoyed it. I ate way too much and will feel it later tonight I’m sure.
1.32 mile indoor walk today.
Tonight we had the Dails over for dinner. It was Jill’s birthday on January 3rd so we decided to celebrate some more. I made a dark chocolate cake for the two of them. We had lots of wine and tons of fun. We love our friends!
I only walked 1.12 miles today.
Today was my husband’s 54th birthday! Happy Birthday! For his birthday we started the day shopping in Georgetown. Then we went to a restaurant overlooking the Washington harbor. We had some bubbles and a cheese plate. In the evening we went out to dinner at The Hamilton in downtown DC. Again we had bubbles and a birthday dessert! When we got home he opened his gifts. It was a really nice day!
I also went on a 2 mile walk inside today.
Today is my 50th birthday! My mind definitely doesn’t feel 50 but sometimes my body tells me I’m actually 50. My 40’s were some of the best years of my life so I know the 50’s will be even better thanks to my love and partner. Above is one of the earliest pictures I have of myself and my twin brother. I think I might be close to 1 in this picture. I was born in France but was only there for about 9 months. This picture must have been one of the first taken when we got back to the US. I’m looking forward to the next chapter in my life. I have retirement to look forward to and many, many years with Warren.
Today will be a normal day…work, errands, etc. Tomorrow I’m taking the day off to get a physical in the morning and then to enjoy time with friends in the evening hours. Should be a great birthday! Happy Birthday to me!
30 days from today I’ll be 50 years old. I don’t think turning 50 is a bad thing. I don’t usually stress over birthdays so this one should be reached without much fanfare. Things are pretty good right now. I have a solid career that I’ll be retiring from in the next 3 to 5 years. My relationship is very strong. We’ve almost been together for 10 years. I have several hobbies that keep me busy in my free time. I would like to be making more money but that’s what I get for taking a public sector job. I’m pretty materialistic and always want more things but I hope in my older age I’ll put less importance on items. I would like to be thinner and be a bit healthier but I make choices that won’t make that happen unless I change my ways. Overall though I’m pretty happy and pretty content in my life right now. I don’t think turning 50 will have too much of an effect on me. It’s a milestone birthday but I don’t expect much to change.
Here I am on my 49th birthday. Happy Birthday to me!
Since we don’t get together during the week I had some friends over to my house to celebrate the boyfriend’s birthday. I think everyone had a good time. I think the boyfriend enjoyed his birthday.
Yesterday on my birthday, the boyfriend got me a cake. And of course we put those very old numbers on it. He sang happy birthday to me and I made a wish and blew out the candles. My wish hasn’t come true yet but they’ll be drawing the lottery numbers on Tuesday and Wednesday night. hahaha Here’s the cake the boyfriend got me. I can’t wait for my other birthday in October! hehehe
Today we met some fellow wine bloggers at a winery and they brought me a cake for my birthday as well! Wasn’t that nice of them?
The boyfriend’s birthday is coming up this week…on Tuesday. Since we don’t get together during the week, we celebrated his birthday today. We went to our favorite winery and had a bottle of the most expensive wine they make. We enjoyed it with our lunch.
When we got home from the winery we had cake and the boyfriend opened his gift. I made the cake of course. As you can see the boyfriend really enjoyed blowing out the candles.
I gave the boyfriend a set of eight champagne glasses. When we had our dinner party on New Year’s eve, we didn’t have enough matching champagne glasses. Now he has enough for eight guests. I think he liked the gift.
Happy Birthday, honey! I love you!
