Hurricane Visit

Hurricane Ida hit the gulf coast on August 29th. It was almost a direct hit to New Orleans, where my husband’s parents live. They tried getting a flight out the Friday before but the flight was cancelled. They ended up staying there for the hurricane with their daughter. A few days after the storm they returned home to a small amount of damage to their house but no water and no electricity.

They decided to come and visit us. They’ve been here almost two weeks, relaxing and not thinking of the hurricane damage. Tonight we we took them out to dinner with our friends. We had a great time catching up with them and taking their minds off the hurricane. Not sure how much longer they will be staying with us but I’m glad we were able to help them in their time of need.

Mother’s Day

Missing my mom today on the first Mother’s Day since her death. We went out to brunch today with the in-laws for Mother’s Day. We had a toast to my mom at dinner. The food was delicious and we had a good time.

Dinner

My husband’s parents are in town. We invited our good friends over for dinner and to visit with them. We had a great time catching up and enjoying food and wine together. It was nice to have our friends over and to have the in-laws in town.

Happy Easter

Today we spent the day with the Dails. We had brunch and mimosas and candy and wine. It was a fun day and it was great to spend time with the whole family and with Max’s girlfriend. They have tons of birds in their yard so I was able to add more birds to my bird count.

And here are the birds I saw.

#19 Mourning Dove

#18 Eastern Bluebird

#17 Red-shouldered Hawk

#16 Red-headed Vulture

#15 European Starling

#14 Tufted Titmouse

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas! While my husband is with his family for a few days, I was about to Zoom with my family today. It was the first time in 10 years that we’ve all been together. It was great seeing everyone and hearing updates on everyone’s lives. We had a great time. We plan to do this more often.
