French Toast Breakfast

Happy Saint Patrick’s Day! Oh my gosh! I was so full after breakfast this morning. My husband made some very delicious French toast this morning. It was so good! But not that great for wanting to lose weight. Too many carbs. But I ate it anyway! It was worth it!

Today I walked 2.11 miles.

Slow Sunday

Today was a slow day. We turned the clocks ahead last night so we slept as long as we could this morning. We didn’t get up until almost 10 am. It was good to sleep. My husband made corn muffins as part of our breakfast this morning. I love those corn muffins. Especially when the are warm and the butter melts. Yum!

This afternoon the sun stayed out longer as you would expect when you move your clocks ahead each year. The sunset was beautiful. I don’t see skies like this too often anymore. Since I moved into the city 3 years ago, I no longer have the views I used to have. I miss those views.

I only walked 1 mile today but I did close the exercise ring. It does’t make sense since yesterday was so off.

Instagram Likes

Tonight for dinner my husband had scallops and risotto. I took a picture of it and put it on Instagram. It is now my most liked picture. As of this posting it has 52 likes. I know that’s not a lot but that is for me. I was very pleased with the number. However, what I think is a good picture usually doesn’t get many likes. I guess it was the tags I used to get it attention. I don’t know. What do you think?

I walked exactly 2 miles today.

Concert and Dinner

Late this afternoon we went to a concert at the National Cathedral. The music and singing were beautiful. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Then we went to La Piquette for dinner. I love that place. I had a delicious half chicken while the husband had duck breast. And we had a wonderful bottle of wine. We had a wonderful evening. When we came out of the cathedral the sun was beginning to set and it was the golden hour. Of course I had to whip out the iPhone and take some pictures. I love golden hour.

I walked 1.37 miles before the concert today.

Early Morning Shot

Happy March 1st! It’s cloudy and a bit rainy. Does that mean March is coming in like a lion?

This morning I was laying in bed while my husband was getting ready for work. I thought the scene looked great. I quickly got my camera and tried to get a shot. Tell me what you think.

One thing I learned is that I need some new lenses that have a lower f-stop so that I can take low light photos and not see noise in the photos. I’ll get one.

Today I walked 2.12 miles indoors.

Hair Cut

It’s the last day of February! Today my husband got his hair cut. It was a bit different than he usually gets so I had to take a picture. Not sure if the picture actually captures the changes but I tried.

I think it looks really good. He has that little swoop up in the front that I think is different. I like it.

I walked 2.09 miles inside today.

For our anniversary I gave my husband a glass vase. The modern version of the 3rd anniversary gift is glass. It is a huge vase so he was able to fill it with these beautiful Lillies. They have opened up now and look beautiful!

I only did .88 miles inside today but my overall all day mile count was 4.47 miles. We also went out to dinner today at Silver. It was much better than the first time we went there.

Winery Visits

My husband hasn’t been feeling well the last two days but today he felt good enough to go to two wineries. We went to Tarara Winery and Lost Creek Winery. Here he is tasting some wine at Tarara. We had a good time and tasted some nice wines.

I walked 2.03 miles indoors this afternoon.

Gorgeous Anniversary!

Today is our 3 year anniversary. We went on our first date 13 years ago today and 3 years ago today we got married! It was a gorgeous day today! It got up to 77 degrees and broke a record.

This evening we went out to dinner at Chef Geoff’s. We had our reception there after our wedding. We had a wonderful dinner and a very nice bottle of wine. It was a great day!

I walked 1.01 miles indoors today.

Perfect Wine

This evening for dinner my husband picked out the perfect wine. It’s called “3”. It was produced in 2010 by three wineries in the Charlottesville area. We know all three winemakers who had a hand in making it. I say it was the perfect wine because next week is our 3 year anniversary. We got married 3 years ago. And we had it with filet mignon which was delicious. It was a wonderful meal!

1.14 miles indoors because it was cold outside.

Happy Valentine’s Day

Happy Valentine’s Day! This evening we went out to dinner for Valentine’s Day. We went to The Grilled Oyster not far from out house. We had a delicious pinot noir. I really enjoyed it! Before dinner we exchanged gifts. We bot got each other candy. I got simple milk chocolates and I gave him a box of Godiva dark chocolates. That’s what he likes. I made him take a picture with me before dinner.

2.07 miles indoors today.

In other news there was another mass shooting today at a high school in Parkland Florida. 17 students and teachers were shot and killed. Many others were injured. Will this be the one to change the gun laws? Who knows.

Date Night Dinner

Tonight we went to dinner at Cafe Deluxe for our date night. We always start with bubbles. Our dinner was delicious. My husband had a free birthday dessert on his Cafe Deluxe card so they put a candle in it and we celebrated one more time. He enjoyed it. I ate way too much and will feel it later tonight I’m sure.

1.32 mile indoor walk today.

Alexa is Funny

During dinner tonight my husband was telling Alexa to do silly things. He told her to bark like a dog and she did! He got so tickled by it. He was laughing light crazy. I tried to snap a picture but I was laughing too so it’s out of focus a bit but you get the idea.

Walked 1.99 miles today.

Happy Birthday, Husband!

Today was my husband’s 54th birthday! Happy Birthday! For his birthday we started the day shopping in Georgetown. Then we went to a restaurant overlooking the Washington harbor. We had some bubbles and a cheese plate. In the evening we went out to dinner at The Hamilton in downtown DC. Again we had bubbles and a birthday dessert! When we got home he opened his gifts. It was a really nice day!

I also went on a 2 mile walk inside today.

Winery Visit

Today we went to another winery. I was a club member at Casanel Vineyards in Loudoun County Virginia but let my membership lapse because we didn’t buy a case within the year. So we headed back to Casanel for a tasting and to buy a case to get back in the club. We tasted some really nice wines and enjoyed a bottle of the chardonnay with cheese and a baguette. It was a really nice afternoon!

Walked a total of 1.90 miles today.

Cabernet Vertical

Today we went to a cabernet vertical tasting at Breaux Vineyards. We had a 3 course meal and tasted six different vintages of Cabernet Sauvignon. We attend these each year. This one was fun as usual but I didn’t eat any of the second course…it was salmon. It was cool to see our reserved table for the members of our group. I was impressed. This was the first time they’ve done that.

Walked a total of 3.48 miles today.

Back To The Hall

Happy Martin Luther King, Jr. Day! I hope you took some time to think about his contributions to our country and our world.

I got back to walking in the hall to get my exercise all at once instead of spreading it out throughout the day. I walked 2.16 miles in about 40 minutes. And of course since there is nothing to look at in the hall, I have a hall picture to share.

For dinner my wonderful husband baked a chicken! It was delicious.

By the end of the day I had walked 4.43 miles and got 10,180 steps.
