Back to walking and back to showing door decorations. Today I only walked 1.70 miles indoors. I know I really need to get back up to 3 miles but it’s cold outside and I don’t really like walking indoors. I think you already know that. Anyway, I present today’s door decoration. I think it’s very sad. The poor dove is upside down. This is one of the worst I’ve seen in the building.
2.10 miles inside today. I don’t like this door decoration. What do you think?
Today I only walked 1.81 miles inside. Here’s the next door decoration to share.
We’ve hit a cold stretch so I think I’ll be walking indoors for awhile. I’ve decided to start taking pictures of door decorations that I see on my indoor walks. I walked 2.16 miles today. Here’s the first decoration I’m sharing. I think it’s a bit much.
It was a beautiful day today. I walked 2.66 miles outside today. Fall is holding on a little longer. There are a few beautiful fall leaves still hanging on.
Today I took a bird walk. I walked 2.30 miles along the Glover Archbold Trail. I took my camera and looked for birds. While I didn’t photograph any new birds, I did find this Red Bellied Woodpecker.
Even though it was Thanksgiving, I still did my walk today. They had a special Badge you could get for doing a workout so I took the challenge. I walked 3.20 miles and got the badge! We also had chicken for Thanksgiving instead of turkey.
Today I walked inside. It was a little chilly. I walked 2.28 miles. Boring indoor picture included.
Today I took my husband’s parents to visit Meridian Hill Park in DC. We had a good time walking around the park. Here’s a shot from our visit. After that I went on an outdoor walk. I walked 3.02 miles. Good walk!
Today I walked 2.38 miles indoors. But I ended the day with 65 minutes of exercise, 13,284 steps and a total of 5.71 miles. I was awarded a new exercise record badge for getting the 65 minutes of exercise today! Yay!
Before my walk today we went to the airport to pick up my husband’s parents. They will be staying with us for 10 days to enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday. In the afternoon I did walk 2.06 miles and got 47 minutes of exercise. Yay! The watch came through today!
The watch says I only walked 1.77 miles on my walk today but I got 49 minutes of exercise so I’m going with that. Maybe I should start counting the minutes of exercise vs. miles walked. Hmm. We’ll see. I did take a weird indoor picture.
I got a haircut today. I also walked 2.09 miles in the halls of my building. I took a picture while walking to show me walking and to show my haircut.
I walked inside again today. I walked 2.18 miles. Nothing special. Just posting to keep a record.
Today I’m back at it. I walked 2.01 miles indoors today. The exercise ring on the Apple Watch says I worked out for 36 minutes. Felt much better about walking today. Even took a picture mid walk!
No walking today. We went to Skyline Drive instead. We wanted to see the fall colors in the mountains of western Virginia. We do this every year. We saw some great colors and the weather was perfect. We also went to a few wineries along the way. Fall is my favorite color!
It was cold and wet outside again today. I walked inside again. Ugh. I’m getting tired of this. But I did walk 2.11 miles so that’s good. And decided to go with the hallway picture. Maybe tomorrow will be better.
It was raining today so I had to walk inside. I was just not feeling it. I only walked 1.23 miles. And I was tired of taking pictures of the hallway so I decided to take a selfie today. And it has a filter on it to make me look better!
In other news, the results from today’s election were amazing! The democrats really came back strong! Virginia took all three top seats and flipped many seats in the house of delegates. When all the votes are counted, we might even have a majority! There are a few races still to settle. Other places in the country went to the democrats too! And in Prince William County, Danica Roem (first transgender candidate) won against bathroom Bob Marshall. He has historically been against any issues for LGBTs. So it was wonderfully ironic that he was defeated by the first transgender person. A truly great day for the democrats and a bad day for Trump. Lets hope he got the message.
Today I walked 2.57 miles on the track at AU. I walked pretty late in the afternoon. The picture was taken at the beginning of my walk. The sky was quickly filling up with clouds. Also with the time change over the weekend, the sun goes down much earlier. It was pretty dark by the time I got home.
It was raining today so I walked indoors after dinner. I walked 2.05 miles. It was sad because of yet another mass shooting. This time in Texas at a church. 26 people killed. All the politicians call for thoughts and prayers but that does nothing. We need gun control now. How many shootings will it take for the republicans to take action and fight against the NRA and change the gun laws?
Today I walked 2.45 miles at the track. On the way home I walked a bit through the neighborhood and saw this beautiful fall street. I think it’s gorgeous!
It is too warm for November 3rd! It was 78 degrees when I walked this afternoon. I walked 2.68 miles on the track at AU. I was sweating! Global Warming is real! When I got home from my walk I saw this deer in the front yard. I got this close and he didn’t even get bothered.
I walked on the track today pretty late in the afternoon. It was well into the 70s. It was warm. I did walk 3.22 miles though. And I did have a pretty scene to look at as I came around the track each time.
Today I walked 3.09 miles on the track at AU. It was a bit warmer than it was yesterday and tomorrow is supposed to be even warmer. It was a pretty day outside though. It was a good walk. Happy November!
Today I walked 2.77 miles on the trail. The fall leaves were beautiful! The weather was just about perfect.
In other news, yesterday the indictments came down for Manafort and Gates and George Papadopoulos plead guilty. I predict Trump will be going down in the near future. Let’s hope!
It was chilly and windy this morning but I was about to get 2.11 miles in. I love the pretty fall colors.
We had our Halloween Party last night. I didn’t get to bed until 3:00 AM. I was very tired and it was raining so I had to walk inside. I only walked 2.01 miles.
And here are our costumes from last night. I actually made mine myself. I bought a sewing machine and hemmed the shorts because they were too long and I sewed the stripe on the shirt. It was fun to learn how to use the sewing machine and figure out how to hem shorts and sew on the stripe. There are lots of videos online to show you how to do these things. I love it!
I only walked 2.10 on the track at AU today. The field was really busy. There were lots of college kids on the field playing soccer, football, etc.
Today I had a really good walk. I walked 3.48 miles on the track at AU. I didn’t take any pictures because I knew I’d be carving the pumpkin. So here’s a shot of our pumpkin. We’re having a party tomorrow night sot he pumpkin is to help decorate for the party. I will also post our costumes on Sunday.
Today I ended up doing my walking late in the evening and since it was dark, I walked in the building. We participated in an online wine chat about Virginia wine in the evening. During the day I spent making my Halloween costume. I’ll post a picture of it on the weekend. But I bought a sewing machine to do the work. I taught myself how to use the machine and make my costume. Anyway, because of all that, the walk was in the evening. I walked 1.91 miles. I was just too tired to go any further but I did get the 30 minutes of exercise done.
Today I walked 2.42 miles in the neighborhood. I wanted to see how the fall leaves were progressing. Today was the first day I felt like the leaves actually looked like fall leaves. The colors were so vibrant and bright! I think that’s because of the rain we had a few weeks ago. This one street looks so beautiful!
I did not do an early morning walk today. We had a new bed delivered. We got a Sleep Number bed. They use your old bed frame and insert their mattress. You can control the firmness of the bed on each side of the bed. So I was tearing up the bedroom for them to install it and then when they were gone I had to put it all back together. I actually got lots of exercise on the Apple Watch while doing all this. So I didn’t have to walk that far to get the minimum of 30 mins of exercise today. I did end up walking in the late afternoon and going .75 miles, but at the end of the day I went a total of 6.15 miles. I moved a lot today!
It was really foggy this morning. I decided to walk anyway. But I only walked 2.28 miles. It was a little misty too.
Today I walked 3.17 miles on the track at AU. On the way I saw this dead rat. Well, I think it was dead. It could have been drunk and passed out. I’m not sure. Either way, it was freshly dead because there were no bugs or anything eating at it.
On another note, I went to my 35th high school reunion last night. We had a great time. It was fun seeing old friends and catching up with them. Many had changed and others looked the same.
It was chilly this morning but it’s going to be warmer today than it was yesterday. I walked 3.16 miles on the track at AU this morning. When the sun came up enough to light up the other side of the track, this is what I saw. Beautiful!
Today I got my haircut so I had to walk later in the day. It was warmer on the track this afternoon. I walked 2.50 miles today. Here I am showing you my new haircut.
It was cold again today but the sun was out and it was a pretty walk this morning. I went to walk about an hour later than usual. I think that’s why it was pretty. The sun was up and it was crisp. I walked 3.12 miles on the track at AU. This picture is close to my building.
I got back to walking early in the morning today. I walked 3.16 miles on the track at AU. It was 48 degrees! I love the cold but it was a bit cold to be outside that long without something on my legs. I knew it would be getting cold so I got some of those runner pants to wear on these cold mornings. They worked! I wasn’t cold at all. I need to get some runner gloves next. My hands were cold.
On another note, I am just so sick of our president. When he called the woman whose husband died last week in Niger he told her he knew what he signed up for. What an asshole. He is incapable of feeling sympathy for anyone. He is absolutely a horrible person. He’s got to go!
Today I walked 2.46 miles in the neighborhood. I saw lots of Halloween decorations in yards. People seem to be more in the spirt this year than past years. Here’s one I saw.
Woke up this morning with temperatures in the 50s. I loved it! But it was a bit rainy and very wet outside. I watched the news and they say it would dry up and the sun would be out in just a few hours. So I waited to do my walk until the afternoon. I didn’t walk on the track though. I decided to walk around the neighborhood. I’ve been watching this house being built for a couple of months now. I’ve been watching since the beginning. It’s really coming along. I wonder if they will have an Open House when they are finished. I’d love to see the inside all finished. Anyway, I walked 2.52 miles in the neighborhood. It was a good workout day!
