Wine Friends

Today we met our new wine friends, Steve and Joe at Delaplane Cellars. We are both club members there. We did a tasting of the current line up of wines. We then enjoyed a delicious charcuterie tray while enjoyed a wonderful bottle of wine. One of the tasting room managers came over and asked us to taste some wines to see what we thought of them. That was nice of him. We enjoyed one of them but not the other one. We always have a fun time visiting wineries and with our new wine friends it was even more fun!

Harvesting Grapes

We usually harvest the chardonnay grapes at Gray Ghost Vineyards in September. This year though we couldn’t do it when they needed us so we chose to do the cabernet sauvignon grapes which were ready to pick today. We’ve been doing this for years and always have a good time. We didn’t do it last year because of COVID. We were glad to be able to join this year and help bring in the grapes. The weather was nice too!

Twins

We are still in Charlottesville. We attended a media event this evening. A friend of ours was running the event and asked me to wear the same shirt he was going to wear. He told me it was time to wear something different then plaid. He bought the shirts and gave me one this morning at another event. He told me to wear it tonight. So…here we are. It was the funniest thing. Everyone at the event got a kick out of it. Lots of people took our picture. We loved it. I’ll probably never wear that shirt again. It’s a bit small for me. Hahahaha

Early Morning

We are still in Charlottesville enjoying our vacation visiting wineries. We already bought about 3 cases of wine in the few days we’ve been here. We have a few more. I wanted to share another morning shot. I got up early again this morning and saw this beautiful pink sky. It was a little dark still so I had to hold the camera really still. Again, I took this one with my iPhone 12 Pro Max. I love the colors!

Vacation

I am a terrible blogger. I let the whole month of July go by without a post. Well yesterday we started our vacation. We are in Charlottesville visiting wineries. We are staying at the cottages at Afton Mountain Vineyards. I woke up a bit early this morning and saw this sunrise. It’s almost like a picture I took almost a year ago. It was taken with iPhone 12 Pro Max. We’ll be here for a few more days. I’m sure we’ll buy lots of wine and have a great time.
