Like Minded People

This morning I went to Whole Foods to pick up some items for a picnic with the boyfriend and his family, who are in town for a few days. When I drove into the parking lot in my Honda Civic Hybrid, the odometer changed over to 10,000 miles. My car will be a year old later this month. I was pleased to see that in a year's time I drove less than the national average for miles per year, which is 12,000.

After noticing my odometer changing, I noticed there were a lot of small cars and hybrids in the Whole Foods parking lot. Is it safe to say that people who shop at Whole Foods are more environmentally conscience? Not only were the shoppers driving fuel efficient cars, they were also carrying their own shopping bags. These people bring their own bags in the store and carry their groceries out in their own bags to help save on plastic in the environment and from cutting down more trees to make paper bags.

I don't know why I noticed these things but I thought it was interesting to see people who are environmentally conscience all shopping at the same place. I'm sure there are the same type of people shopping at Trader Joe's too. I just happened to notice it at Whole Foods.
