Apple HomePod

My Apple HomePod arrived today. I went ahead and joined Apple Music so that I could have access to all the music Apple has in iTunes. The speaker is really cool. The sound is amazing. Ever song I’ve asked her to play, she’s been able to play. I’ve asked her to play certain kinds of music and she plays a playlist of that music that’s already been created. She will also play any of my playlists that I created in iTunes. It’s what the first iPod Hi Fi should have been. She is limited in the amount of information she can give you though. Unlike Alexa, Siri is limited to only certain types of information. She can give you the weather, what the stocks were for the day, basic information about songs, etc. She can’t tell jokes, or play games or anything like that. Maybe in time she’ll get better. I’d say she beats all the competition when it comes to sound. It really sounds great. When the ability to have two HomePods playing the same music is added later this year, I’ll have to get another one. I’m pretty pleased with the way it sounds and operates. It was a breeze to set up too!

2.26 miles today.

iMac Ram Upgrade

A couple of weeks ago I showed you my new iMac. In this video I show you how to upgrade the ram on the iMac. Mine came with 8 gigs of ram. I bought 32 more gigs of ram. When finished I’ll have 40 gigs of ram. Click play to see the video.

New iMac

So…I broke down and ordered the new iMac today. It was introduced back in June but then I didn’t think I needed it. I’ve been having an issue importing video that’s shot on the my iPhone 8 plus. With the new IOS it stores the video files differently and has a different file for videos now. For some reason I could not for the life of me get those videos into my computer. It’s called High Efficiency Video Coding. I thought my iMac would be fine with it because I updated to the lasted OS but it didn’t work. I don’t know.

Anyway, I ordered the new iMac with the 4.2 GHz Intel Core i7 Kaby Lake processor, 8 gigs of ram (I’ll upgrade the ram myself to 40 GB), the Radeon Pro 580 graphics chip and a 3 TB Fusion drive. I’m always excited about getting a new iMac. This one should arrive later next week. Yay!
