Morning Fog

Woke up to a very foggy morning here in DC. I was hoping to see some birds today but I don’t think that will be happening. It’s a stay in bed kind of morning.

Update: Later this afternoon a thicker fog rolled in. I shot a short video showing the fog.

However, yesterday I did see a new bird. Look at this amazing American Black Vulture I captured on camera. This is bird #7 photographed in 2013.

Vacation Day Six

Today it was a travel day. We got up early and had breakfast again at Cafe Sarafornia. After breakfast we packed up the car and headed to San Francisco! We will have one day in San Francisco and then we fly back home tomorrow.

On the way to San Francisco I wanted to stop at the Golden Gate Bridge to take pictures. Last time we were here I had the camera on the wrong setting and all my pictures had a blue tint to them. This time I had the camera ready but the weather wasn’t working in my favor. We went to Fort Point to get a different angle for the photos but the fog was so heavy you couldn’t see the bridge. Below is the best picture I could get. I was very disappointed.

After the failed photo shoot, we returned the car to the airport and got a cab to the hotel. We checked in and then walked down to Fisherman’s Wharf. We walked all over the piers and took lots of pictures until we got hungry. We wanted seafood so we picked Fog Harbor Fish House for our meal. We were so full after dinner we decided to take a cab back to the hotel. Once there we decided to walk down to Pier 14 on The Embarcadero. There we had a great view of the Bay Bridge. We also saw the YMCA and wondered if it was the same one from the song. Here are some photos from that walk.

The YMCA buidling. Is it from the song?

Now we are relaxing in the hotel room about to go to sleep. Tomorrow we fly home and the vacation will be over. So sad to leave California but we have great memories of seeing so many things. We had a great time!
