The Newsroom

Are you watching the recently new series on HBO called The Newsroom? I have watched it from the beginning and I have been skeptical about it’s success and if I even like the show. But Sunday’s episode solidified it for me. I like the show. The characters are likable and the stories are real. It goes back a couple of years in the news and shows how a cable news show could have covered some of the major stories of the day. Sunday’s episode tackled marriage equality and the Fukushima nuclear disaster in 2011. I really liked the way they handled the story and told about the events.

The character of Sloan Sabbith (played by Olivia Munn) really shined in Sunday’s episode. I have liked Olivia Munn since I saw her in a short lived series on NBC called Perfect Couples. It only lasted a half a season but I enjoyed her character on the show. I think she’s a good actress (even though she’s so young). She really does a great job on The Newsroom.

Have you been watching this show? What do you think? I know, too much use of Wikipedia in this post, sorry.
