Stripped Screw

Today I began my eMac project. I am soldering on new capacitors on the logic board. I began by taking out all the screws holding the case on. When I got to the last one it would come out and it got stripped in the process. So I had to halt the upgrade of the logic board and order some stripped screw remover. I’ll get back to it tomorrow when the tool arrives.

New Bird

Today I ran some errands. When I was bringing the stuff through the garage I saw this bird on the railing. It’s a Northern Mockingbird. He just sat there and let me take his picture. I used my iPhone so it’s not the best picture but you can see him though.

The rest of the day I spent cleaning an old Apple keyboard. I took that thing apart and cleaned every key. You can see how filthy it was. It took forever but the keyboard is like new now.

Leftovers

Tonight for dinner we had some leftovers from the Mardi Gras party we had last night. I had some delicious meatballs and Mac and cheese. My husband ate more than I did. As you can see we are using the leftover plates too!

Mardi Gras Party

This evening we had a Mardi Gras party. We had about 12 friends over and enjoyed some wonderful food created by my husband. We also enjoyed lots of wine and great conversation. Of course I was so wrapped up in the party I totally forgot to take any pictures. However, here’s one of the decorations we used.

Apple HomePod

My Apple HomePod arrived today. I went ahead and joined Apple Music so that I could have access to all the music Apple has in iTunes. The speaker is really cool. The sound is amazing. Ever song I’ve asked her to play, she’s been able to play. I’ve asked her to play certain kinds of music and she plays a playlist of that music that’s already been created. She will also play any of my playlists that I created in iTunes. It’s what the first iPod Hi Fi should have been. She is limited in the amount of information she can give you though. Unlike Alexa, Siri is limited to only certain types of information. She can give you the weather, what the stocks were for the day, basic information about songs, etc. She can’t tell jokes, or play games or anything like that. Maybe in time she’ll get better. I’d say she beats all the competition when it comes to sound. It really sounds great. When the ability to have two HomePods playing the same music is added later this year, I’ll have to get another one. I’m pretty pleased with the way it sounds and operates. It was a breeze to set up too!
