Joe Biden was sworn in as the 46th President today. SO happy! Trump is gone. He didn’t even attend. He went to Florida early this morning. The whole country breathed a big sigh of relief when Joe took the oath. And of course history was made when Kamala Harris was sworn in as Vice President. The first woman, first woman of color, first south Asian….and on. It was simply amazing seeing her up there take her oath. It was a great day!
Today the death toll from the COVID 19 pandemic reached 400,000. That is just crazy. When will it stop? Who knows. This evening the bell at the National Cathedral was rang 400 times. We went up there to see the event. It was so quiet. On the cathedral they projected “Lord hear our prayer” and the number 400,000.
Today I went bird watching and added 9 birds to the count. I’m up to 10 so far! Here are the ones I photographed today:

Today Trump was impeached for the second time. This time for the Capitol insurrection that he suggested his followers do on January 6. I can’t wait for him to leave. Just one more week.
Today was the day the election results were to be counted and verified. It started out fine but by the 3 state they began objecting to the results. While that was going on, Trump was telling his supporters at a rally on the mall to storm the Capitol. Within an hour or so the idiots were marching toward the Capitol. We were watching on TV and getting worried. We’d never seen anything like it before. It was scary!
