We would normally have a Halloween Party with lots of friends, food, wine and fun. But thanks to COVID we had to cancel the party this year. Instead, my husband put on his costume and we went walking around the neighborhood to see the decorations. I did carve a pumpkin though. Here are some pictures from the evening. It was fun but I didn’t dress up.

Skyline Drive
Today we drove to Front Royal, Virginia to visit a winery and to drive on the Skyline Drive to see the fall leaves. The weather was beautiful and it being a Friday there weren’t too many people along the way.
We started at the winery. We did a tasting flight and then enjoyed some lunch nibbles with a bottle of wine. It was so restful. The views were gorgeous.
Then we drove along the Skyline Drive and got to see some beautiful color. We stopped at several points to take in the views.
Lunch in the Bishop’s Garden
It was a beautiful day today. We decided to walk up to the National Cathedral and have lunch at the Bishop’s Garden. It was beautiful as usual. We were able to go inside the cathedral as well. It’s been closed for awhile because of COVID. Not sure why they had it open today. Anyway, I took a beautiful picture of the sun shining through the stained glass windows. Gorgeous!
Harvesting Grapes
We usually harvest the chardonnay grapes at Gray Ghost Vineyards in September. This year though we couldn’t do it when they needed us so we chose to do the cabernet sauvignon grapes which were ready to pick today. We’ve been doing this for years and always have a good time. We didn’t do it last year because of COVID. We were glad to be able to join this year and help bring in the grapes. The weather was nice too!
