The second date with B went very well last night. We had plans to go to Maggiano's for dinner and then back to my place to watch a DVD.
B got here a few minutes after 6. When I opened the door I was surprised. This wasn't the same guy I met last week. But he was. He started to grow a goatee since I last saw him and it looks really good on him. He's got dirty blonde hair and blue eyes. Maybe I hadn't noticed that before. Anyway, I showed him around my place and we chatted about our days and then we were off to dinner. We got to maggiano's and found out the wait was 1 1/2 hours. We were both hungry so we decided to bag Maggiano's and go to The Daily Grill. The Daily Grill was just down a flight of stairs. We were seated right away. I was pleased with that because I was starving! We both ordered wine and our meals. We had some good conversation. I mentioned in an earlier post that I wanted to learn more about him. I mentioned things I wanted to ask him. Some comments suggested I not come right out and ask these things. Well, I didn't need to. The conversation flowed easily and the topics I was interested in evolved on their own. We talked about recent boyfriends, relationships, our first loves, etc. From that conversation I learned that he is interested in a long term relationship…one that develops slowly over time. He's not into one night stands and knows what he wants out of life. I won't go into all the things we talked about but I did learn a lot more about him and I must say that I'm more interested now then I was after the first date. We both must have been nervous on the first date and didn't want to reveal too much I think. So dinner went well and we enjoyed the meal. The Daily Grill is a nice place if you haven't been there or if you don't want to wait for Maggiano's.
On the way home we stopped at TCBY for some frozen yogurt. It was good but we were both pretty full so neither of us finished. Then we went back to my place. I was stuffed so I changed into shorts. He made himself comfortable and picked out a DVD for us to watch. He picked Big Eden. I love this movie. He hadn't seen it before. So we got comfortable on the couch and watched the movie. I tired not to talk too much during the movie. I have been told by more then one boyfriend in the past that I talk too much during movies. I tried hard not to do that tonight. The movie was good of course and I think B enjoyed it as well.
When the movie was over, he said he should go home. He had to help a friend move today so he had to get up early. I understood. He said to give him a call and I will. We stole a few kisses and hugs on the way to the door and then he went home. I had a really good time on this date. It was much better then the first. And I'm sure there will be others.
P.S. I'm off to The Eagle tonight with Ken. I've never been there before! We're going to some fund raiser cookout thing. I'm not sure what it is exactly but with Ken things are usually fun. I WON'T be out late since it's a school night.
