Palochi and Zeitzeuge have started a Tribe on Tribe.net for Gay Bloggers. If you are a gay blogger or even a friend of a gay blogger you are welcome to join. I joined and found it’s a great place to find new blogs to read (like I have enough time now to read the 53 on my bookmarks list) as well as check out what these crazy people are up to. There’s a message section where you can post messages and people can reply. It’s very cool. There are several threads already going and they are hilarious. There’s also sections to add “friends” to your personal network. If you join (it’s free!) feel free to invite me to be one of your “friends”. I think this would be a great place to organize possible blogger events. They’ve had blogger events in New York and LA (I believe) but we haven’t had one here in D.C. yet. I think we need to get the D.C. gay bloggers together at an event of some kind. So if you are a blogger or a blog lover, check it out.
Today I got together with my good friend David. He is in the market for hard wood floors, new carpet, and tile in his kitchen. We went to several flooring stores, the Expo Design Center, Home Depot, and a few others. I think he decided on a floor but the tile and carpet will take some more research. While we were out shopping we stopped and had lunch at Sweet Water Tavern. They brew their own root beer once a week. David and I both had the root beer to drink. It reminded us of those little candy root beer barrels we used to have as kids. The flavor was exactly the same. Drinking the root beer and talking about the candy root beer barrels reminded David of my post about memories.
He came over last night for dinner and some TV watching. We had pasta and couple of glasses of wine. We watched Ken Jennings win again on his final appearance this season on Jeopardy. After Jeopardy I taught him how to play Backgammon. He was a very fast learner. He won 2 out of the 5 games we played. I was impressed. Then we watched What Not To Wear on TLC. The show had a straight rugby friend of Jimbo’s on to change his wardrobe before his wedding. It was fun.
No plans for this evening so I’m just going to catch up on the blogs I read and watch some TV. Maybe I’ll even get to bed early and read. I’m having a tough time getting into the book I’m reading now. The story is all over the place with lots of characters. I don’t want to throw in the towel yet but there comes a point where you have to just admit you’re not going to enjoy a book and move on to another. I’m not there yet.
