Early this morning I traveled down to Montross Virginia. It’s on the northern neck of Virginia on the edge of the Potomac River. My artist friend, Bob lives there with his wife on 18 acres of beautiful land that includes a forest, a pond, a creek, and two fields. Once I got there he showed me his studios and many pieces off his work. He also showed me several photography collections on his computer. His artwork is amazing. It inspires me to make more art of my own. Seeing his work gave me many ideas to try. He also taught me a new technique to try. I showed him my latest work and he gave me some pointers on improving my work. Then he made me a nice lunch of hot dogs and chips. It was nice of him to make a lunch a kid would eat since he knows I have terrible eating habits.
After lunch we took a hike around his property and I took over 100 photos. We hiked up hills, over trees, across a creek, and through fields. Not only did I get a good cardio workout, I also saw some incredible scenery. And I took lots of great photos. The one below is obviously a tree trunk but look closely at the knot. Doesn’t it look like a puckered butt hole? When Bob and I saw it, I said it looked like a butt hole. Bob said he was thinking the same thing! I plan to use many of the photos I took today in my artwork.
I had a great day. I learned several things, saw some beautiful landscapes, and had a great visit with Bob. Thanks for a great day, Bob!
