Flirtation

Homer called me this evening on his way home for work. It's so much fun talking to him and hearing about what's going on in his life. He's got some great stories. Of course not all of them make it to his blog. Lucky me.

For the past few Monday's I've been meeting some girls (and I say girls because these ladies are in their twenties) from work to have a bagel before going to work. It's a great time to carry on and bitch about work. Last Monday as we were standing in line a really cute guy came up behind us. I noticed him right away. He looked my way and smiled. I smiled back. That was it. I didn't see where he sat or when he left.

This morning we were back at the same time and the same guy came up right behind us in line. When he got close to us he said, “You guys must have the same schedule as I do because you were in line in front of me last Monday at this time.” My first thought was cool, he remembered me. But then I thought maybe he was hitting on the “girls”. I had no idea. But he was cute and I wasn't going to let him get away without saying something.

After getting our bagels, I waited for one of the girls to get her coffee. The cute guy got his order and took a seat. Then I made sure we sat near him. He was drinking coffee and reading the newspaper. He looked to be in his mid 30's or even very early 40's. Nice looking guy. I noticed he didn't have a wedding ring. He was nicely dressed as well. Anyway, we sat down and started our usual chat about work. About 20 minutes later he got up to leave. Just before he walked out the door, I kind of waved and yelled to him, “See you next Monday!” He waved back and said, “Maybe so”. None of the girls thought anything of it. I was beaming on the inside. I'm going to check Craigslist to see if he left a message.
