What a beautiful day! W. and I went to Carderock Maryland today. It’s the Maryland side of Great Falls. We decided to go on a hike and I picked out the Billy Goat trail. There are three sections of the Billy Goat trail. I picked out the shortest, easiest section to go on. However, according to our directions, we ended up on the more strenuous section of the trail that included lots of rock climbing. I know W. was expecting a simple walk in the woods but he got quite a rock climb. I think he had a good time though. I totally enjoyed climbing on the rocks, taking photos, and enjoying the scenery. I want to go again when we can spend more time doing more of the trails. The section we did was about 4 miles. I forgot to wear my pedometer so I have no idea the exact millage. On the way back we walked along the towpath. It was completely flat and so much easier to walk along.
Does anyone know what kind of flowers those are in the picture? W. and I saw them all over the place but have no idea what they are. We also so lots of other flowers and identified some. All the trees had the buds bursting. In just a few short weeks the leaves will be shading the ground. We saw lots of geese, a few hawks, and even a hering flying overhead. I took lots of photos while on our hike.
