More Birds!

I’m in Charlottesville for a wine event so I decided to go birdwatching since I had some time. I went to the Ivy Creek Natural Area and was able to add to my list of birds photographed. Here are the ones I saw:

Chipping Sparrow

Eastern Bluebird

Carolina Wren

Northern Flicker

White Throated Sparrow

Red-bellied Woodpecker

Bluejay

Gray Catbird

Lunch in the Garden

Yikes! It’s been a month! I need to update the blog. Today we went to the Bishop’s Garden at the National Cathedral to have lunch and check out some of the spring flowers. It was a gorgeous day and all the tulips were out! I also saw a couple of new birds! And all this on a Tuesday because my husband is on Spring break.

Bird Count

It’s time to start the bird count again. Last year wasn’t the best. I only photographed 36 birds. That is up from the last two years but still not the best. So today was a warm cloudy day but I was able to get out and get the count started. I photographed 6 birds on this first day. Here are the ones I saw:

#6 Song Sparrow

#5 Mourning Dove

#4 American Robin

#3 Northern Mockingbird

#2 Northern Cardinal

#1 Yellow-bellied Sapsucker
