I am a terrible blogger. I let the whole month of July go by without a post. Well yesterday we started our vacation. We are in Charlottesville visiting wineries. We are staying at the cottages at Afton Mountain Vineyards. I woke up a bit early this morning and saw this sunrise. It’s almost like a picture I took almost a year ago. It was taken with iPhone 12 Pro Max. We’ll be here for a few more days. I’m sure we’ll buy lots of wine and have a great time.
Today we went to the Bishop’s Garden for lunch and to see what was blooming. There were lots of pretty things. I think this butterfly was the best.
The cicadas have invaded our neighborhood. In this video I show you some of them in different stages.
The 17 year cicadas are finally hatching all over the place. There’s tons of them in our neighborhood. When I was out walking today I saw this one crawling on the sidewalk. On a nearby tree there were tons of those empty shells they crawl out of. I guess we’ll be seeing this for a few weeks. They are called Brood 10.
On my walk today I took this picture of the Eastern Redbud tree in front of our building. It seems like it bloomed overnight. This continues my sharing Spring pictures from my walks.
