Christmas Cards

Today I got my first Christmas card in the mail. It was from an aunt who is usually late in sending out her cards. She must have gotten a jump on the holiday to get them out this early. She always writes a little message in the card as if I'm going to write her back and answer her questions. She does this every year and I never write her back. I'm sure she does this with every card she sends. It's her way of making it more personal. I doubt she expects a letter or anything in return.

Once I got that card it made me think about sending out my Christmas cards. I have already decided that I'm not going to put up a tree or decorate my house but should I send out Christmas cards? I've only sent 30 or so cards in the past. Would anyone miss it if I didn't send any this year? I just haven't been in the Christmas mood. I know I already have plenty of cards. So it's not like I have to fight any crowds to pick out new cards. I must have 3 boxes packed away in my Christmas boxes down in my storage unit. Last year when I was in the mood I bought several boxes thinking that I could always use them in the years to come. Maybe this weekend I'll get the Christmas bug and dig through the boxes and find those cards. I could always put in a Christmas DVD and write out the cards while watching the movie. I doubt I'll write little messages in the cards like my aunt does. I'll have to think about it.

How do I decide who to send them to? I know I'd have to send them to all my family members and close friends. But besides that, who gets a card? I don't have any blogger snail mail addresses so you won't be getting a card unless you send me your address. What about stamps? Do you have to send the cards with those special holiday stamps or can you use the regular old U. S. Flag stamps? Does it really matter? Does anyone really notice the stamps? And what if someone sends you a card and you didn't send them one. Do you quickly get one in the mail to them? Will they be hurt if you didn't send them one? What will they think?

Christmas is so stressful. How do people do it year after year?
