I hope you enjoyed W.’s guest post yesterday. As you read, he and I went horseback riding. We had a great time and saw lots of beautiful winter scenery. I’m sure there are some that don’t find winter scenery beautiful, but I found the stark landscape, the bare trees, and the spots of snow still on the ground to be very inspiring artistically. W. mentioned that while riding he found himself lost in the scenery and forgot he was on horseback. We plan to go back in late spring when the trees are green and the landscape is completely different. I took over 150 photos but as I found, taking photos on horseback isn’t easy. More then 70 of them came out all shaky. I had to delete many of them. I said I’d like to go back sometime and walk the trail we rode to take some photos. Also, I’d like to mention that if you haven’t been on a horse in almost 20 years, your ass will feel it the next day. I woke up this morning with a very sore ass…and not in a good way. The ass pain was worth it though.
As you read in W.’s post, we went to the Grey Ghost Winery after our ride. I really enjoyed the wines we tasted and learned a lot more about the process. I bought a case of wine. They let you mix the case with the different wines you enjoyed. I bought 3 bottles each of 4 different wines. I’m set for wines for awhile. There are several wineries in the same area as Grey Ghost. W. and I plan on making a few more trips to visit other wineries. What a fun weekend!
