Odds and Ends

Today I painted my mom's kitchen. It took me all day. I painted the ceiling, the trim, and all the walls. I still need to go back tomorrow to put one more coat on the walls. Taping things off and cutting in always take the longest. It seems like I spent most of my day taping off and cutting in the edges. What a pain. But I'm a good son and she was very appreciative. She even bought me pizza for lunch!

A few days ago I got my bike out of storage. David and I are planning on resuming our bike rides so I thought I should have my bike cleaned up and put together. I spent some time cleaning off the dust, putting the seat back on, and putting air in the tires. I haven't ridden it since last summer. I'll have to dust off my helmet too. The weather is supposed to be really nice on Sunday so I think I'll try to talk David into having our first bike ride this Sunday. We like to go on the WO&D Trail (Washington & Old Dominion Trail). We usually ride from the old Vienna train station to the old Herdon train station. It's about a 12 mile ride, round trip. That's enough for us usually. There are some ups and downs but mostly it's flat. I also hate to cross streets (because of an awful bike accident when I was 14) so this route is decent because there are so few streets to cross. Should be fun. I hope I can talk David into going this Sunday.

I told Michael a few days ago that I'd help him with some filing. He's got his own business and needs help getting his office organized and files put in place. So on Monday I plan to spend most of the day working for Michael. He said he'd pay me 10 bucks an hour. A little spending money will be nice. It's not like I don't have the time. And I have hard time saying no.
