Oops…June went by without much of a post but here we are in July. Tonight we went up to the Cathedral to see the National Fireworks. We’ve never seen them live before. The weather was nice so we decided to see if we could find a place to see them. There were about a million people up there but we were able to squeeze into a spot and see the fireworks. I took a ton of pictures but none really came out decent. It was hard to get a good angle. Here’s the only one that I thought was decent.
Hillwood Estate
Today I met my friends Jill and Lynn at Hillwood Estate. It’s the home of Marjorie Merriweather Post. She was the heir to the Possum Cereal Company. She was very wealthy. We had a great time catching up, enjoying the mansion and gardens and having lunch. Here are some pictures from our visit.
Lunch in the Garden
Today we went to the Bishop’s Garden for lunch and to see what was blooming. There were lots of pretty things. I think this butterfly was the best.
Happy Birthday To Me
Today I turned 57! Happy Birthday to me!
White Doves
This evening we went to the National Cathedral to see “les colombes” a multimedia art installation by Michael Pendry. “les colombes” means white dove in French. It was so cool to see the flock of doves hanging from the ceiling of the cathedral. We were masked and they limited the amount of people who could go in at a time but it was still cool to see it in person.
