Vote

The day is here. The time is now. If you are reading this and haven't voted yet, get your ass out to your local polling place and cast your vote! I'm not saying just vote, I'm saying vote for John Kerry and help produce the change that this country so desperately needs. It is time to get rid of George Bush. When I get home from work I plan to take a nap so that I can stay up late watching all the coverage and watching John Kerry accept his new job and George Bush concede and walk away with his ass between his legs. I haven't been political on my blog in a long time. I want John Kerry to win more then ever. I keep hearing it and I believe it. This is the most important election in our lifetime. History will be made today and everyone should be part of it. So VOTE!

Peak Color

We have seen absolutely beautiful weather in the last few days here in the DC area. The sky has been as blue as ever. And the trees are showing us their true colors. It's peak color time in our area and the trees are giving us a show. Click on the pictures above to see the view from my balcony. I could drive down Skyline Drive or drive out to Great Falls but why would I when I can see it all from my balcony. It's almost breathtaking. Fall is my favorite season. I love it!

Happy Halloween

I won’t be handing out candy this evening. I live in a high rise condo and there aren’t many kids roaming the halls for candy. Plus, they have this system that if you want to hand out candy you are to put an orange streamer on your door and the kids will know to go to those doors and not bother those of us who won’t be handing out candy.

Last night I went to the Halloween Party with David. We had a pretty good time. I think we were the only single guys there. Everyone there was a couple. I guess they could have thought David and I were a couple since we came together and only hung out with each other. I only knew two other people at the party. That’s always awkward. They probably thought David and I were stuck up or something because we are shy and don’t talk to anyone. We didn’t know what to talk about. I did talk to one guy who I met at the Halloween Party last year. He is adorable. He’s perfect…except he has a boyfriend of something like 12 years. I’ve seen this guy 3 times now and each time I see him we chat and get along well. He’s so sweet. I wish he didn’t have a husband. At one point Michael was taking pictures and I made him take a picture of this guy’s ass. If he sends it to me, I’ll post it later. David dressed up for the party but I didn’t. There were a few other people who didn’t dress up. I didn’t wear the black tapered jeans though. I’ve mentioned before about “Power Gays”, well many of the guys there were power gay kind of guys. Nice looking, nice jobs, live in the city…they have it all. I am so not a power gay nor will I ever be.

On another note, I had two photo shoots this weekend. Yesterday I shot a 50-something year old guy who has amazing muscles. He was part of the very first shoot I participated in. I think I got some really nice photos of him. In the middle of the shoot though, I changed the settings on the camera to get a special shot and then forgot to change the settings back. Half of the photos came out really dark. So I promised him we’d shoot again and I wouldn’t mess them up again. The second guy this weekend was a slave. Yes, a slave. He is into the whole leather scene. He addressed me as sir the whole time. It was kind of wild. He also brought all kinds of props to use in the shoot. This was a different type of model all together but I think I got some really great shots.

Birthday Dinner

Last night I took my friend David out to dinner for his birthday. We went to Maggianos. There was a 40 minute wait so we went shopping while we were waiting. David and are going to a Halloween Party/One Year Anniversary Party/House Warming Party for my friend Michael, so we need to get a gift. We went to Pottery Barn and bought a nice vase and had it gift wrapped. When we got back to Maggianos we only had to wait a few more minutes before being seated.

I was going to get a glass of wine and David was too but then we decided to go ahead and get a bottle. David talked me into it…like he had to twist my arm. We ordered and our waitress soon brought our wine. I'm not one for fancy restaurants at all but I was impressed when the waitress opened the wine and had David taste it before pouring our glasses. I didn't think Maggianos was that kind of place. Nice. After the first glass I was feeling really relaxed. Good feeling after a long week. So we enjoyed our wine and soon the food came. It was very good. Huge portions! I ate way too much. I think David enjoyed his as well. We had some nice conversation and we talked about getting older and how he felt about 36. It's no big deal to him. I said wait until he turns 40. Luckily he has a few more years. It was a nice evening.

When I got home from dinner with David, I had 3 messages on my voice mail. One from Homer. He called to say hello. Sorry I missed your call, Homer! Then I had two calls from two straight women from work. They were at a local bar and wanted me to come out and join them. The messages were obviously drunk dials. I called one of them back on her cell phone and talked for awhile to several drunk colleagues. There must have been 4 of them there. I'm so glad I didn't go out! Those women are crazy. They were all pretty drunk and talking about all kinds of crazy things you usually don't talk about with your colleagues. I'll have to make fun of them on Monday.

David has decided to dress up for the party tonight. I don't think I will but I do have an old Fred Flinstone costume I could wear if I decided to dress up. It's very warm in DC today so I don't know if I want to dress up and get all sweaty. Plus, if there are any new men at this party, I would want to make a good first impression. You never know who you might meet at parties. After all, Michael met his current boyfriend exactly one year ago today at a Halloween Party we went too. It could happen.

I have a fashion question: Are black jeans out? I was going to wear black jeans and an orange shirt to work yesterday until the young drunk women from work told me black jeans are out. How are you supposed to know this? I mean, I only wear them once a year on Halloween. I think that would be okay. But then again they are tapered. The young drunk women told me that black jeans are bad enough but tapered black jeans are even worse. I'm so old.

Happy Birthday

Today is David’s birthday. He is a very good friend of mine. He turns 36 today. If you get a chance, send him a birthday e-mail at: davidva68@cox.net. It would surprise him and make him enjoy the day even better!

Happy Birthday, David!
