Nude Males

Yesterday I had a unique opportunity. As some of you know, I'm an amateur photographer. I've really gotten into digital photography in the past few years. I've upgraded my camera 3 times and finally settled on the Canon Digital Rebel. It's a GREAT camera. Recently I've been chatting with a photographer who mainly shoots male nudes. He was having a photo shoot on a secluded, 8 acre piece of land that he uses to shoot his photos. He asked if I'd like to come along and practice my photo skills. I jumped at the chance. It was amazing.

The property was a great place to take some amazing photos. There was a wide open grassy area surrounded by a tall forest. At first I was hoping for some sun but as I quickly learned, having direct sunlight washes out your subjects. Having a cloudy day was perfect for lighting. I learned how to change the ISO on my camera to 400 so the images would come out crisp and take advantage of the lighting conditions. As far as I'm concerned the lighting was perfect.

Usually I shoot photos of nature and typical touristy things. But yesterday I dabbled in male nudes. I dabbled so much that I took 271 photos in about two hours. As anyone who has an interest in photography knows, you can take hundreds and hundreds of photos and only come out with a handful that are any good. That's the case here. Of the 271, I only picked out about 20 that I really like or think would be worth posting. There were 4 models and 3 photographers including me. We worked in pairs and solo. These models had beautiful bodies. They all created amazing photos. The majority of the photos were very artistic and I think could be part of a collection for a book eventually. That's just my opinion. The whole experience was amazing and I not only learned so much about my camera and the conditions for creating amazing photos, I also learned a little about working with models and how to ask them to create a pose you think might be artistic. I really learned a lot and enjoyed the whole experience.

At this point you are probably asking, “Where are the photos!” Well, I have several photos that I would like to post to a web page but as you might suspect, you need to have the model's permission to post them on a web site or use them for any kind of printing. One of the photographers had a release form for the models to sign. I, being so completely new to this, didn't have any form at all. So I have e-mailed the models and am waiting their approval. So if everything goes well, I'll have a web page soon to showcase my male nude photographs. Be patient!

Where Is My iMac?

I got an e-mail Friday from Apple saying that my iMac G5 had shipped. Of course it's coming from Shanghai China. The estimated delivery date is October 13! I don't know if I can wait that long! I went to the Apple Store yesterday and saw my same computer there. It's a lot bigger then I thought it was. It also seems really fast. I can't wait for my computer to get here!

Stalking A Blogger

Last night I went out to dinner and drinks with Ken. His friend Doug joined us. We went to Dupont Italian Kitchen for dinner and then upstairs for drinks at Windows. We didn't eat until later then I normally care for so I had a slight headache from that. We did end up getting seated outside so the view was nice at least. We saw some nice eye candy walk by. I was really good at dinner. I only ate one piece of bread and two slices of pizza.

After dinner we went upstairs for drinks. Since it was Friday, it was old hairy bear night. The place was packed with older, hairy bears. Well, and guys who were just old. I know that's why it's called Widows. Anyway, we go drinks and stood around and talked awhile. We went out on the balcony for awhile and I ran into a colleague of mine. I met him in 1991 in a grad class I was taking at the time. He's older and drunker and not my type but a nice guy. He was a little tipsy this time too. He said to e-mail him sometime. I'll think about it but probably not.

We walked through the bar again and ended near the stairs. We were just standing around drinking and chatting when I spotted someone I thought I might know. I watched him for awhile. Yep, I was right, it was him. It was Tom from Click Blog. Most of the time I was stalking, watching noticing him he was talking to some guy. Once that guy left, he was playing with his phone so I didn't want to bother him. I was tempted to go up and say hi. But then I started thinking about what we'd talk about. I don't really know him or much about him. I couldn't spend several minutes talking to him about how cute he is. hehehe Anyway, this is the first time I've actually spotted a blogger outside of the blogsphere. Pretty cool. I wonder if he knew who I was or if he thought I was just a stalker.

Eight Minute Commute

6:08 Back out of my parking space.

6:10 Merge onto Route 66 West

6:13 Exit off Route 66 West

6:13 to 6:15 Cruse through 4 green lights.

6:16 Back into my parking space at work.

It's amazing that I live in the D.C. metro area and can make it to work in 8 minutes. All day today I told everyone I made it to work in 8 minutes. They were all amazed, especially the woman who has an hour commute. I think she was very jealous. It's very simple, live close to where you work.

I'm headed into the city tonight to meet Ken for dinner and drinks at JR's. I'm sure it'll take me more then 8 minutes to get there but the destination will provide much more fun then ending the commute at work.

Happy Hour

I went to Happy Hour with some straight people from work today. We went to On The Border. I don't eat Mexican but we weren't there for the food. We were just having a few drinks for one of our colleague's birthday. We sat right out in front on the patio. We had a perfect view of the front door. While we were sitting there having our drinks and chatting about shit (as usual) there was a steady stream of hot young professional men going into the place. I guess I didn't realize so many straight men (and women) go to Happy Hour after work. Almost every man who went in was gorgeous and young…well from mid 20's to mid 30's. I just hope the straights didn't catch me drooling every time I looked in the direction of the entrance. I did catch one set of eyes as he walked in. Then he came out again and was seated right next to us. We exchanged glances while he was being seated. I wondered if his gaydar was working and if he was just with a straight friend. How rude would that be to start up a conversation with a hot guy when your fellow co-workers don't know your gay? Damn, he did have very nice blue eyes.
