Today we went walking on the Glover Archbold Trail looking for more new birds. We walked for just about an hour and saw no new birds. Just as we were about to leave the trail and brown bird appeared in front of us. Turns out it was a female Brown-headed Cowbird. She was not scared of us at all. I took tons of pictures of her but I like this one the best because she was singing and I caught her in mid song. She is bird #42 for the year.
Today I went to the Dyke Marsh Wildlife Preserve to look for birds with a local bird watching group. It was very cold and windy and cloudy today. It was kind of tough to see some of the birds the group was pointing out. I didn’t see them all and I don’t remember all the names of the birds they said they saw but I did see some that I hadn’t seen or photographed before. As of today I’m up to 40 birds photographed in 2013. Here are the birds I saw today.
