Every time I go on my walk in early January and see the trees thrown on the sidewalk I feel sad. We are keeping our trees up another week and then they will be sad too.

Christmas Tree Up
With the help of my husband’s parents we picked out a beautiful tree this morning. We spent the rest of the day decorating the tree and everything else in the house it seems. We always say it’s the best one we’ve ever gotten. It’s beautiful!
Christmas Tree
Today we went and picked up our main Christmas tree. It was a beautiful day and we had no problem getting the tree and bringing it home on my SUV.
We spent the day taking our time decorating the Christmas tree and all the other decorations we put up around the house. Of course the tree is the best one we’ve ever had. My husband always says that when we are finished decorating it. It does look nice.
Dead Trees
As I’ve mentioned before, I’m walking outside as much as I can these days. I’ve figured out a route that I like and it gets my heart rate up without tiring me out too much.
I’ve started noticing people are putting their Christmas trees out for the garbage the last few days. All along my route there are scenes like this one. The poor trees have done their job and they are not put on the curb to die. Luckily the city does a good job of recycling the trees into much for around the city. We took our decorations down on Saturday and the trees are on the loading dock for the recycling.
Christmas Tree
This morning we went to the Christmas tree lot and picked out our tree. The place was packed with others getting their trees. They were going fast. Since there is less time this year between Thanksgiving and Christmas, everyone is out trying to get things and get their decorating done.
Once we got the tree home and up in the stand we decorated it. It took a long time. We used most of the ornaments we have but there are some left over for the second tree we’ll be putting up next weekend. We enjoyed some wine and nibbles while decorating the tree. Here is the tree all decorated.
After decorating the tree we decided to finish all the other decorations tomorrow. Maybe I’ll make a video of all our decorations and post it at a later time. We also watched our first Christmas movie of the year. We watched the Bishop’s Wife. It’s one of our favorite movies. We love watching Christmas movies. I need to watch It’s A Wonderful Life next I think.
