Early this morning I went to Ellanor Lawrence Park to look for more new birds. The place was very busy with birds flying all around. So many of them I’ve photographed already this year but I was able to capture 4 new birds to add to the list. I’m now up to 39 birds for 2014. The new birds are:
#36 Chipping Sparrow
#37 House Wren
#38 Eastern Towhee
#39 Eastern Bluebird
When will spring start? We had 4 inches of snow overnight. The ground temperatures weren’t cold enough for it to stick much on the roads but the grass and trees saw some pretty snow. We were attending some wine events in central Virginia so we saw a lot more snow there then up in the DC area. Here’s a picture I took at the hotel. I thought it looked best in black and white.
While we were attending one of the wine events and before the snow began to fall, I saw this Eastern Bluebird flying around and was able to snap a few photos of it before it flew away. So the Eastern Bluebird is bird #28 photographed in 2013.
