I’ve seen on several blogs people posting pictures of cats on Saturdays. I don’t have a cat but have taken lots of pictures of cats over the years. This one is a vineyard cat taken in 2006. The poor cat was later hit by a car and killed. This cat used to hang out in the vineyards and would let us pet him while we were harvesting grapes. Other times when we were there to enjoy some wine, the cat would come around looking for nibbles and rubbing against our legs. It was a great cat. It was sad when it was hit by a car.

Restaurant Week
This week has been Restaurant Week in DC. It ends on Monday. We decided to take advantage of the special pricing and enjoy a meal at the same time. We decided to go to Chef Geoff’s for an early dinner. Actually, it was still considered lunch time so we really had a late lunch. For $20.12 you get an appetizer, entree, and a dessert. We decided to have a bottle of wine with our dinner so that upped the total price. Even so, for the two of us and a bottle of wine it was only about $80. On a normal evening that probably would have been closer to $120. Do you have restaurant week in your town? How good are the deals?

I had ice cream for dessert but I forgot to take a picture of it. We had dinner several hours ago but I am still so stuffed. I feel bad for eating so much because this morning I got on the scale and have lost enough weight to be down to what I weighed when I graduated from high school 30 years ago. I’ll get back to it next week.
Red Headed House Finch
As I mentioned on my podcast, I’m becoming a birder. Today I went outside with my camera and snapped several hundred pictures of birds. Most of the birds were just the simple run of the mill birds. However, I did see this Red Headed House Finch. I saw one of these a year ago in June but haven’t seen it since then. Nice to see it again.

Hike Photos
Today we took a hike on the Glover Archibald Trail. I’m sometimes amazed that beautiful views are right in the middle of the city. I took my iPhone with me and snapped some photos along the way. Here are a few from the hike. To get to the trail we went through a neighborhood. The flower shots are from the neighborhood.
