Day 228 of 365

Just finished watching a documentary on The History Channel about the Ku Klux Klan. It was quite amazing and scary. I couldn’t help seeing though that the republican party has many similarities. Now, I’m not saying the republican party is the Ku Klux Klan, I’m just saying that they have many of the same prejudices as the Klan. I would bet though that some of the republicans, especially the old white males, had an association with the Klan at one time in their past.

Day 202

Knowing I’m off in the summer and that the boyfriend goes away with his family for awhile, my mother has been keeping a list of things for me to do all year. This week while the boyfriend is away, I have time to do all those little jobs my mother has for me to do. Today I began painting her kitchen. She had it renovated a few months ago but I haven’t time to do the painting until now. As you can see I painted it yellow. The yellow in the picture is much darker than it really is. It’s actually a light, creamy yellow. I got most of the painting done today.

I’ll be returning to her condo tomorrow to continue working on the list of items she has for me to do. She turns 78 next month so most of the things she has on her list, she’s unable to do. I hope to get everything done by Wednesday.

Day 192 of 365

The boyfriend and I traveled to the Northern Neck of Virginia to visit some wineries. Today we went to four wineries. We traveled over 200 miles and my trusty Honda Civic Hybrid got 49.8 miles per gallon. I’ve gone 378 miles on this tank of gas and still have 1/4 of a tank left. That’s pretty good millage!

Tomorrow we’ll be visiting with my friend Bob and going to a few wineries with him and his wife, Jackie. I’m sure we’ll have a great time and take lots of pictures. I’d post more pictures now but I forgot to bring the cord that hooks my camera up to my computer to download the pictures. This one is of the boyfriend relaxing in bed at the hotel. I had to use the iSight camera on my laptop to capture this one.
