New Year New Birds

Each year I start my bird count over. In 2014 I photographed 58 birds. I hope to improve that number in 2015. Today we went on our first bird watching walk in 2015 and saw 7 birds!

Follow Up

Don’t you hate how I post things and then never follow up with what happened? Last week I talked about the snow. We did end up with about 7 inches of snow. I had two days off from work and everything was a mess for awhile. However, this week we are having a few days of warmer weather melting all the snow. It’s supposed to get cold again mid week. We’ll see what happens.
RichardIII
Over the weekend we went to see Richard III at the Folger Shakespeare Library in DC. It was a great play. I had a little difficulty understanding the language but I got enough of it to understand the play. I told Warren they need to update the language to today’s english. It would make for a very dramatic play. After the play we went to a local restaurant and had a glass of wine before heading home.
TwoAmys
On Sunday we went to my favorite pizza place, 2 Amys for lunch. I love the pizza there. After lunch we walked around the National Cathedral so I could take more pictures. I have hundreds of photos of the cathedral but I always feel like I need more. I joined a DC photography group on Facebook and I’m posting some of my photos there.

On Sunday I always went bird watching and saw bird #23 for the year. It’s a Pileated Woodpecker. Each year I forget how big those birds are. They have a pretty big wingspan and are probably a foot or more tall. There were lots of other birds flying around but I have pictures of those already this year. I hope I’ll see some new birds as the spring gets closer.
