2017 Bird Count

I’m determined to increase the number of birds I photograph in 2017. In 2016 I only photographed 41 different birds. It was a busy year and I didn’t have much time to go bird watching. 2017 will be different. I will have much more time in the second half of this year to photograph birds.

On this first day of 2017 I went bird watching and was able to capture five birds. They were:

#5 Downy Woodpecker

#4 Cardinal

#3 American Crow

#2 White Throated Sparrow

#1 Tufted Titmouse

Today we went for a walk at a local park to do some bird watching. I added 4 new birds to the 2015 list of birds seen and photographed.

Between watching the inauguration festivities on TV, I went on a walk today to find some birds. When the sun is out, the birds tend to come out. I saw a few today!

National Bird Day

Today is National Bird Day! I didn’t know that when I took the pictures of the birds below. I saw them all early this morning. As you know I like to keep track of the birds I see. I’m keeping a count. As of today my number is three!

Here is the first bird I have photographed in 2013. The Tufted Titmouse. Saw it out the window first thing this morning and just had to snap a few shots. This is the best one I could get. He was jumping from branch to branch and it was hard to get a good shot of him. 2013 Bird Count: 1

Here is a set of House Finches. They were out yet another window. I think that’s a juvenile house finch with them. 2013 Bird Count: 2

The last bird I saw today was the Pileated Woodpecker. Saw him in the same tree as the finches. His red head really stood out and was easy to see. 2013 Bird Count: 3
