New Year’s Eve

We usually have a decent crowd for our annual New Year’s Eve dinners but this year we were a small group. For dinner it was just our friends Michael and Kevin. Later the Dails joined us for the new year. We rang in the new year with bubbles and the ball drop on TV. Here’s to a great 2020! Let’s hope for some big changes this year!

Visiting Bob

This morning I drove down to Fredericksburg Virginia to visit my friend, Bob. After having some breakfast, we went to three different art galleries in the Fredericksburg area. We saw photography, paintings, mixed media and an art studio where artwork is on display and artists are working. You could also buy artwork there. I enjoyed seeing all the artwork.

After the art, we went to Chatham. It’s a huge historic house that has been in Fredericksburg since 1771. It overlooks the town of Fredericksburg. It looks huge on the outside but it’s really only one room deep. It’s still pretty big though. It is part of the Civil War history of Fredericksburg. We enjoyed seeing all the gardens on the outside too.

After visiting Chatham we went to lunch and then I came home. Long drive but worth it to see Bob.

Halloween Party

We had our annual Halloween party this evening. We had about 16 people show up. Almost everyone was wearing a costume. Of course I forgot to pick up my phone and take some pictures. I did take a picture of the pumpkin I carved. I was going for a scary face this year. I also got a picture of us in our costumes. I was a Safari guide and my husband was a vampire. I think we look pretty good. We had a great time catching up with all our guests. And we enjoyed some great wines with all the food my husband prepared. Another successful Halloween party!

Dinner Party

This evening we had some dear friends over for a dinner party. We had some great wines paired with my husband’s famous crab cakes. Everyone enjoyed the food and the wines. We had a great time catching up. We always enjoy having friends over for dinner.
