New Birds!

Early this morning I went to Ellanor Lawrence Park to look for more new birds. The place was very busy with birds flying all around. So many of them I’ve photographed already this year but I was able to capture 4 new birds to add to the list. I’m now up to 39 birds for 2014. The new birds are:

#36 Chipping Sparrow

Bird Count

With a new year comes a new bird count. I start over each year counting the birds I photographed each year. In 2012 I photographed 33 birds. In 2013 I photographed 59 birds. I hope this year I photograph many more new birds. I started out yesterday with a hike with Warren and I saw a good handful of birds but only got three decent photos of birds. So the count begins.

Snow

Today we had our first measurable snow in the last few years. We got about 2 inches of snow. I took a picture from my balcony in the middle of the storm. I also saw a house finch visiting the bird feeder. I’m glad I had the day off!
