Home

The boyfriend and I arrived home this afternoon. We traveled about 500 miles and brought home three cases of wine. We had a nice visit with my dad and all his cats. He now has 5 stray cats that stay in his house each night. During the day they go outside (except for one). Anyway, we’re home.

Here’s a picture I took today at the last winery we visited. It looks as though I was drunk taking the picture but I assure you I was not. I simply moved the camera as the flash was going off. Oh well. Kinda cool looking anyway.

Wine Trail

The boyfriend and I are staying at my dad’s house for a few days. We are visiting with him and visiting wineries. We’re having a great time spending too much money on wine. We cooked dinner for my dad. He never cooks. He thought it was a luxury to have dinner cooked. He’s 79. We’ll be here until Tuesday.

Might Be Time To Move

It might be time to seriously think about moving into DC. I only live about 7 miles away as it is now. It is now legal for men to marry men and women to marry women in Washington DC. I doubt we’ll see this happen in Virginia in my life time. How sad is that. I’m so close to progressive DC but yet my state is one of the most homophobic states in the country.

And while gay men and women lined up at the DC courthouse, Joe Lieberman introduced a bill in the senate to repeal Don’t Ask Don’t Tell. A bill has already been introduced in the House. Hopefully both will sail through quickly.

I love Virginia but hate that socially they are so backwards. I wish they’d catch up so I’d feel more comfortable in my own state.
