The snow stopped around 10 pm last night. In the end we got 6 inches of snow. I didn’t have to work today and I’m not sure about tomorrow. I went out to clean off my car and there wasn’t much snow on my car. The winds were so strong yesterday that not much stuck to the car. I only had to clear off the drivers side. Then I took a walk around and took some pictures. The wind was so strong that the snow didn’t pile up much on hills. As you can see in the photos the flat areas got most of the snow. It was pretty but it’s SO cold. This morning it was 8 degrees with strong winds. The winds are supposed to calm down tonight. While I love having the time off, I think I might be done with the snow but I know there will be more.

It’s Snowing Today
We haven’t had more than 3 inches of snow since January 26, 2011. They are predicting 5 to 8 inches of snow in the DC area for today. The temperatures are going to plummet as the day moves into night. It started snowing this morning around 9:30. This picture was taken about an hour later. We have a light dusting but the snowflakes are now getting bigger. Luckily I don’t have to work today but that means I do have to work on President’s Day in February. I like a good snow storm when I’m ready for it. I’m ready. I can handle being in my house for a few days. Plus, it’s pretty to look at and I hope to get some nice photos as the snow piles up.
Here’s what it looked like a few hours late.
Snow Walk
Yesterday we went on a snow walk. The snow had stopped in the early morning and the sun came out. It was still very cold but we decided to go on a walk anyway. We were freezing but enjoyed seeing the snow in the city. Here are some photos from our walk.
First Snow
Last night and into the early morning we had our first snow of 2014. It only snowed about 3 inches where I live but it was enough to disrupt things. Luckily I’m still off for the holidays so I can enjoy it. The temperatures dropped big time overnight. Now everything is frozen. It will take some work to clean off my car. It’s pretty to look at though.
Snow
Today we had our first measurable snow in the last few years. We got about 2 inches of snow. I took a picture from my balcony in the middle of the storm. I also saw a house finch visiting the bird feeder. I’m glad I had the day off!
